Following the completion of a preliminary trial using the first batch of recovered raw materials, A&A Fratelli Parodi S.p.A. successfully carried out subsequent production runs, confirming both the efficiency of the process and its high reproducibility.
The yield in 2-ethylhexyl esters was satisfactory, with the esterification reaction proceeding almost quantitatively and resulting in a final acidity number below 1 mg KOH/g. After the molecular distillation step, approximately 75% of the total product corresponded to the 2-ethylhexyl ester fraction, while the remaining 25% consisted of high-molecular-weight compounds already present in the initial lipid feedstock.
The final product showed stable and reproducible quality across different batches, with only minor variations attributable to the natural compositional variability of the recovered lipid materials. These results confirm the robustness of the optimized conversion process and its potential for industrial application within the BioLubridge framework.
